Rag and Bone x AAKS

One of the highlights of the year was our collaboration with Rag and Bone. I was approached by them and asked to create two designs for their store. It was such an incredible opportunity for AAKS!

My team and I worked together collaboratively with the Rag & Bone team to create and sample a design that stood on it’s own, independent of the AAKS brand and bringing in some of Rag & Bone’s chic style, but one that still resembled what makes our AAKS bags special. I’m so proud of what came of this partnership, and excited to share with you a bit of an insight into the making of the bags!

Introducing the Ghana Woven Tote Woven with straw and finished with leather wrapped handles, the Tote also has a nylon lining with a cinch-able drawstring and customised Rag & Bone flecked cording. It comes in two colours, Black and Natural.

The making of the Ghana Woven Tote



Proudly and intricately handmade in Ghana by AAKS weavers, the Ghana Woven Tote honours expert crafting techniques that have been passed down for generations. For this bag we used straw to give it a sturdy shape - a little different to our usual, softer material choice of raffia! Our weavers enjoyed the experience of creating a basket bag that speaks to the traditional designs typically seen here in Ghana with a modern twist.
